VINTAGE, ANTIQUE, CORONATION DAY PIN MAY 12th 1937

These are Coronation pins that were sold to the public by the Poppy Fund of Toronto and the Canadian Legion. This was the coronation of George VII after his brother Edward gave up the throne because he was marrying a divorced woman ,Wallis Warfield Simpson. They even had a miniature Union Jack flag attached to the back of the pin. Neat stuff.
Trivia: Elvis received over 10,000 letters a week during his stint in the U.S. Army. G.I. blues.

Did You Know? The legend came true. In a case of life imitating art, on November 18, 2008, officials in Hamelin, Germany- home to the Pied Piper legend- announced that the town was overrun with rats.
